Thankfulness was a common theme at Mutual Aid Partners’ Tuesday Distro, where unhoused and housed locals alike congregated ahead of Thanksgiving.
“I’m retired, but … I don’t quite got enough,” 66-year-old attendee Dave said. “Close to being homeless, if not that right now. (I’m) living out of a trailer, but staying at somebody’s yard right now.”
“I came here to get some groceries, since they’re so high right now, and the EBT card only gives me $40, so it’s a little tough,” he added. “It helps to come down here, and to throw a turkey in there … it makes you feel all right. I’m pretty grateful myself for sure.”
