ARLINGTON, Va. — Hundreds of people are impacted as a water main broke in Arlington the day before Thanksgiving.
According to the Arlington Department of Environmental Services, crews began fixing an 8-inch water main break in the 1500 block of N Quinn Street on Wednesday morning. Approximately 200 customers in a nearby apartment building could feel the impacts of the break.
Traffic was closed between 14th St N & 16th St N. while crews worked to repair the break. On Wednesday morning, DES estimated that the repair would be complete around 7 p.m.
Just before 1:30 p.m., DES said crews repaired the initial cause of the break but then found another 6-inch hole in the pipe. Now, 200-500 customers are impacted by the repair work.
