Donald Trump and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani ’s meeting at the White House was one for the books. The two men gathered for their first in-person discussion in the Oval Office on Nov. 21 after months of trading barbs in their public remarks.

That meeting, in and of itself, is bizarre to some, but for 34-year-old Mamdani, there is one glaring memory of their encounter that stands out as the strangest.
