BROOKLYN, N.Y, -- Kat Karounos poured in 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Curtis opened its season with a 48-27 triumph over Brooklyn Tech in a non-league game Tuesday.
Jiselle Jackson added nine points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Alina Starodubenko had eight points.
“Great team win to start the season,” said Curtis coach Talia Sutton, whose club led 22-14 at the intermission before outscoring its opponent, 26-13, in the second half.
Julia Surat added six points and eight steals.
The Warriors play Medgar Evers Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the ML Gators Thanksgiving Day Classic.
