PINE RIVER — Sawyer Tulenchik scored 20 points for the Pine River-Backus Tigers in a 72-62 win over the Swanville Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 21.

Ella Brewer added 16 points with Leah Eveland scoring 14 and Mimi Bueckers 13.

"We started slow against a very well balanced Swanville team," said Coach Tucker Sheley. "We were able to overcome the size differential by wearing them down with our press into the second half."

The Tigers, 2-0 overall, will travel to Red Lake on Tuesday, Dec. 2. Their Tuesday, Nov. 25, game against Menahga was canceled because of inclement weather.

OGILVIE — Ella Brewer scored 27 points and Mimi Bueckers added 25 as the Pine River-Backus Tigers exploded into the new season with a 95-36 nonconference victory over the Ogilvie Lions on Thursday, Nov. 20.
