Local children had a fire evening at the Madison Public Library during the City Circle: Kids' Edition on Nov. 24.

Here, Madison Fire Chief Randy Minnaert and city commissioner/firefighter Kelly Dybdahl led the children through a tour of one of the department's fire trucks along with a discussion on the importance of fire safety. The event also saw Minnaert and Dybdahl team up for a special reading of "Lou" by Breanna Carzoo, the story of a young fire hydrant who yearns for a higher purpose, unaware of the critical role he plays in his community. ×
