Two members of the National Guard who were shot in Washington, D.C. were from West Virginia, Gov. Patrick Morrisey said.
The governor said one of the two has died.
Morrisey issued a statement this afternoon expressing sorrow on behalf of himself and the first lady, Denise Morrisey.
“Denise and I are devastated by the news that two members of the West Virginia National Guard were shot earlier today in Washington, DC. According to reports on the ground, one did not survive the attack and the other was taken to a nearby hospital.
