NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A man has been arrested by the North Charleston Police Department after officers found a gun and drugs during a traffic stop.
Richard Deas, 55, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
Officers pulled over a vehicle just before 7:30 p.m. in the area of Rivers and Cosgrove Avenues for a defective tag light. Police say that the driver and passenger, later identified as Deas, of the vehicle refused to follow commands, and officers saw Deas reaching into a bag toward his waistband.
