In his first foray into local engagement since returning home to Philadelphia after serving as Ambassador to Canada, longtime civic giant David Cohen became the chairman of the new Citizen Media Group , which includes both The Citizen and Philadelphia magazine.

At The Citizen’s Ideas We Should Steal Festival on November 14, Cohen told the crowd about his longstanding belief in journalism as a keystone of our American democracy, and why The Citizen Media Group is an antidote to the usual way of experiencing the news.

The Citizen Media Group, Cohen said, is the “ultimate definition of quality journalism and definition of civic journalism … I’m inviting you to come along for the ride.”
