Lethbridge police are on the lookout for illegally tinted vehicles.
Police in the southern Alberta city say that they have noticed an increase in vehicles with illegal tint. It’s a serious problem, with illegal tint contributing to two serious pedestrian collisions in the past two years, say Lethbridge police.
The Lethbridge Police Service will be targeting illegal tint during the next two months, warning offenders they will face fines.
“We’ve always been enforcing the tint, but recently since two serious collisions that we’ve had, it’s kind of come to the forefront of our unit,” said Sgt. Tony Ramotowski of the Lethbridge Police Service’s traffic response unit.
“We’ve seen these two collisions that were contributed by tint, and that’s two too many in my unit.”
