Southwest Michigan Regional Airport confirms that a small aircraft was involved in an incident on airport property.

Emergency responders from local police, fire, and medical services arrived on scene around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and secured the area.

According to reports, crews arrived to find a small single-engine airplane upside down on the runway with both occupants outside of the aircraft.

One of the occupants suffered cuts to the head and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The airport is actively coordinating with local authorities, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, who will lead the investigation into the cause of the incident.
