PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — Pflugerville is getting some help from the federal government to modernize its water infrastructure.

The city is getting a $176 million loan through the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act. It will go toward building a new wastewater treatment plant, expanding and consolidating wastewater collection systems and rehabilitating water mains.

A portion of this loan is set to fund the ongoing 54-inch Wilbarger Wastewater Interceptor project to address increased flows due to growth in the Wilbarger and Cottonwood Basins, the city said.
