Table 301’s Tavola Italian will offer pasta-making classes in the new year.
Yours truly and several others recently were guinea pigs for the program as it goes through the development process. While we may not know exactly what the class will be like in its final iteration, we do know the highlights of the class we attended. Here are some of our takeaways: • Tavola chef Beau Owens will teach you his way of making pasta, giving both a handmade method — similar to an Italian grandma — and more modern methods using equipment such as KitchenAid pasta attachments. • Owens’ teaching will be sprinkled with moments of comedy and heartwarming tips. • He will explain how to make a variety of shapes, and an education on different flour that may be used for shapes or throughout regions of Italy
