An Essex Superior Court judge on Tuesday set a February trial date for Kelsey Fitzsimmons , the North Andover police officer shot in June after allegedly pointing a gun at a colleague when he arrived at her home to serve a restraining order.

Judge Thomas Drechsler set a Feb. 9 trial date for Fitzsimmons , who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the June 30 incident .

Fitzsimmons , 29, was shot on June 30 as fellow officers were serving her with a restraining order obtained by her child’s father, a North Andover firefighter, in Essex Probate and Family Court.

In court documents, he said Fitzsimmons had assaulted him and he feared she might kill their infant son “at any moment.”
