Cynthia Christine Fletcher, 66, was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Nov. 21 after stabbing a 63-year-old man to death at an apartment in the 1500 block of West Sixth Avenue in Eugene in March.
According to court documents, Fletcher initially was charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon in the death of David James Valentine; however, she pleaded guilty to the lesser crime of first-degree manslaughter and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to the Eugene Police Department, officers responded to the scene of the crime around 7 p.m. on March 29, where they found Valentine dead. Fletcher was arrested at the scene. Fletcher and Valentine were living together at the time of the incident.
