Oregon has sued the Trump administration again, this time over guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture directing changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program that states say are unlawful.
The federal budget reconciliation bill H.R. 1, or the "Big, Beautiful Bill ," modified SNAP eligibility requirements for some non-citizens and changed the penalties for states' percentages of over- or underpayments.
The lawsuit, filed Nov. 26 in the U.S. District Court for Oregon, alleges Oct. 31 guidance from the USDA gives instructions to make changes not included in H.R. 1, is unlawful and asks for it and the requirement to not go into effect.
