Two National Guard members were shot Wednesday near the White House and are in critical condition, law enforcement members say.
A suspect was also shot and is in custody. The suspect is believed to have not life-threatening injuries, but the two National Guard members are in critical condition, The Associated Press reported .
All three people were transported to the hospital.
The shooting occurred at 17th and I Streets, just a few blocks from the White House. President Donald Trump was not there at the time, after traveling Tuesday evening to Florida for the Thanksgiving holiday. View Comments
