SIERRA VISTA, AZ (AZFamily) — Police say a man wanted for child sex crimes threatened authorities with a sword when they attempted to arrest him on Tuesday in southern Arizona.
At about 9:30 a.m., detectives and officers went to serve a warrant to a 39-year-old man at his home near Central Avenue and Karen Drive in Sierra Vista. The man was wanted on a felony warrant for sexual exploitation of minors, according to the Sierra Vista Police Department.
Police say they spoke with the man, whose name has not yet been released, outside his home before he went back inside, and officers followed him.
While inside the home, the man reportedly grabbed a sword and threatened police before they backed out and set up a perimeter around the house.
