MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department reports that two people are detained after a shooting in the Highland Heights area left a man fighting for his life Wednesday afternoon.

MPD, the FBI, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have set up at least two crime scenes in connection with this shooting.

MPD says that officers were dispatched to the scene at Faxon Avenue and Baltic Street at 1:43 p.m. Wednesday.

A man with critical injuries was located and rushed to the hospital.

Officers have a man and woman detained.

Investigators are also posted at Glankler Street and Summer Avenue in connection with this incident.
