Thanksgiving is known as one of the busiest travel holidays of the year, both on the roads and in the skies. In Anchorage, drivers made their way along Seward Highway on Thanksgiving Eve, though traffic appeared to be moving smoothly.

Your Alaska Link spoke with Lindsay Hammer, who was heading out for the holiday—and for a special family celebration.

“It’s the first Thanksgiving in 20 years that my whole family is all together. We're celebrating my dad's retirement after 50 years of being a social worker here in Alaska. We're going to go spend it actually at the Girl Scout camp, where we used to spend our Thanksgivings as kids,” she said.
