After leaders of Frente Nacional Para el Rescate del Campo Mexicano (FNRCM) failed to reach an agreement with federal Mexican officials on Tuesday, protesters escalated their actions on a national scale that included Nogales, Sonora.

As of Wednesday afternoon, farmers from Sinaloa joined by Sonoran farmers and cattle ranchers gathered on Highway 15, about eight miles from the border. The aim was to stop commercial trucks headed north before they could reach toll booth stations, FNRCM delegate Macdiel Castelo told the Nogales International. ×
