SLINGER, Wis. (CBS 58) — A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect across parts of Wisconsin until 6 p.m. Wednesday, with snow flurries and wind gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour creating challenging travel conditions one day before Thanksgiving.
Drivers have been coming and going steadily throughout the day as many try to get on the road before conditions get worse. Light snow and powerful winds have already started to make roads slick, especially around open stretches of highway and intersections where blowing snow reduces visibility.
Many travelers say the weather isn’t stopping their plans, even long-distance ones. Deborah Porter, who is heading to Kentucky for a more than seven-hour drive, says this kind of weather is nothing new for Wisconsinites.
