ROCKFORD, Ill (WREX) — The Northern Illinois Food Bank hosted a holiday meal box distribution event in Rockford, Illinois, aimed at providing Thanksgiving meals to families in need. The event took place at the Neighborhood Market on Sand Hollow Road on Wednesday, November 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., operating on a first-come, first-served basis, rain or shine.
Talia Uribe, Supervisor of the Neighborhood Market, shared details about the event. "We have our pop-up today, and we are expecting to serve around 750 families," Uribe said.
