NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Wednesday marks the busiest shopping day of the year as shoppers make last-minute runs to grocery stores to complete their Thanksgiving lists.
Grocery stores said they have been preparing for months to ensure customers can still find everything needed for their Thanksgiving dinners, even during the final rush.
“This is the day that we spend all that time and preparation for,” said James Geerholt, store director at Turnip Truck. “We execute based on that preparation, and we have totally taken care of that in advance.”
Geerholt said the preparation for Thanksgiving shopping begins far earlier than most customers realize. Turnip Truck starts working with suppliers in April to make sure they know how much food will be needed.
