A new campaign to tackle violence against women has been announced. Merseyside Police today (November 25) launched Operation Halo. The force is working with local authorities and licensed venues across Liverpool city centre in a bid to tackle violence against women and girls to ultimately keep the city center a safe space during night-time.
The new scheme comes after the success of the ‘Ask For Angela' campaign which launched in 2016 as a way to keep people safe in social settings such as pubs and clubs. By bringing together security professionals and licensing authorities, Operation Halo demonstrates a united approach to creating safer spaces.
