NORFOLK, Va. — The Class 5 Region B playoffs continue Friday with nine area high schools in action, including the two-time defending state champion Maury Commodores. Maury will take on King's Fork on the road at 7 p.m., marking the second consecutive year these teams have faced off in the postseason.

After falling in their season opener to Cardinal Gibbons of North Carolina, the Commodores have bounced back impressively, winning 11 straight games heading into the region finals.

Head coach Dyrii McCain praised his team’s focus and unity. "A very focused group," McCain said. "Not taking away from teams before, but super focused, togetherness. Playing for each other."
