SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Ozark Electric Cooperative customers will receive a total of $3.5 million just in time for Christmas.
Customers can expect to see a credit on their December bill based on a 2025 usage calculation. The cooperative last distributed money to customers five years ago.
The cooperative experienced a better-than-projected year regarding weather, demand conservation, and operating margins. The board voted to return the money to customers.
“I love that’s our business model,” said Patrick Oehlschlager, general manager of Ozark Electric Cooperative. “I know the investor-owned and municipalities have different triggers. They don’t have that ability. Our investors are our members. So when we do well, they need to share that.”
Customers who recently moved will receive a chec
