SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The 31st season of Bright Nights at Forest Park kicked off Wednesday night in Springfield, and it’s brighter and taller than ever before. There was so much fun over there with lot’s of folks coming out including several local leaders to celebrate opening night. The festivities began here at Santa’s Magical Forest inside Bright Nights at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday with a countdown to the annual lighting ceremony from Kris Kringle himself.
The new Grand Christmas Tree is the centerpiece here at Santa’s Magical Forest and all of the activities planned throughout the season.
The tree is 50-feet tall with a 4-foot star at the top and has over six thousand lights that change patterns when the songs “Jingle Bells,” “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Feliz Nav
