CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A Charlotte woman faces new charges after federal prosecutors allege she blocked federal immigration enforcement officers during a protest outside a Department of Homeland Security office.

Heather Morrow was arrested along with a man on Nov. 16.

Morrow was initially charged with felony assault of a federal officer, but that charged was later dropped.

Federal prosecutors announced Tuesday that Morrow is instead charged with four crimes related to obstruction and failure to comply. They allege that Morrow and the man, identified as William Stanley, blocked federal agents from entering the Department of Homeland Security building parking lot.

In an interview with WBTV Wednesday, Morrow insisted she was within her First Amendment rights.
