WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Rams on Wednesday designated wide receiver Tutu Atwell (hamstring) and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon (broken clavicle) to return from Injured Reserve.
The move opened both players' 21-day practice windows, but head coach Sean McVay took it a step further Wednesday afternoon and said he expects both Atwell and Witherspoon to be able to play Sunday against the Panthers in Charlotte.
"I think he'll (Witherspoon) be able to play this week," McVay said. "He got some scans. The goal and the anticipation is to be able to do that. But with both he and Tutu, we'll get through the week, and we'll see where they're both at. But it'll be good to get them back on the practice field."
