ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Every year, Feel Better Farms Animal Rescue saves one turkey from being part of a family’s Thanksgiving dinner.

According to the farm’s director, Sarah Barwick, turkeys bred for meat usually only live about 90 days before they’re eaten, but the ones she "pardons" get to live five to six years.
