ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - People across Central Louisiana are still finding reasons to be grateful this holiday season. As families come together for Thanksgiving, many residents are taking time to think about what it truly means to be thankful, even with the challenges the region faces.
In a community where crime and daily struggles can easily take center stage, residents tell KALB they are choosing instead to focus on the good. For many, the holiday is a chance to slow down, appreciate loved ones and be thankful for life itself.
Frederick Burgess said Thanksgiving reminds him to look at what matters most.
“Thanksgiving...just reminds me to be thankful for my family, my kids, my friends and just another year that God has brought me through,” he said.
