YAKIMA, Wash. – On Tuesday, November 25, Yakima Police Department (YPD) officers were dispatched to a residence on Powerhouse Road following a report of a weapons offense.

According to court documents, the report was received around 9:52 p.m., and described a son pointing a handgun at his father.

YPD officers arrived and observed a man step out of the residence’s front door, before going back inside and fleeing out of the back door. Police were not able to establish a perimeter in the area before the suspect fled.

Speaking with other residents, YPD officers learned that the father had been fighting with his son, who was reportedly angry for an unknown reason. The son brandished a handgun and pointed it at the floor, then he put it away and left the residence.
