The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade is a nearly century-long tradition in the city — but the process of blowing up the more than 30 balloons in the parade is also a sight that thousands of New Yorkers come to see.
Best friends Lenon and Rosie shared with NY1 that their favorite characters are Minnie Mouse and Snoopy. They got to see Minnie leading the pack at 60 feet in height — the tallest balloon.
“I think this is a very special New York activity where we get to see these magical balloons blown up together and all of our favorite characters and celebrate Thanksgiving,” Rosie’s mom, Brandy Bajalia, said.
“We’ve been doing this since he was six months old. We come every year. I mean, look at that face. He’s so excited every single year. We just like to create mom magic. It’s a tradition.
