A 27-year-old man now faces a murder charge in the deadly shooting of an 18-year-old man in the city’s Entertainment District early Tuesday.
Toronto Police say the killing was the result of a shootout that unfolded, near King St. W. and Spadina Ave. , around 4:45 a.m. and also left the accused man wounded.
“It is alleged that the accused was approached by a group of males,” police said in a statement released Wednesday.
“The males discharged firearms, and the accused was struck by gunfire,” police alleged. “The accused then discharged a firearm, striking one of the males in the group (the murder victim).”
Police alleged their suspect was transported to hospital where his injuries were determined to be “non-life-threatening.”
