DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Late travellers for the Thanksgiving holiday will continue to run into gusty winds. Since these winds originate out of the west-northwest, north/south oriented highways will be perpendicular to these gusts.

The good news? The strongest part of this latest wind storm is past us. Peak gusts through this evening will be in the 30s, eventually settling into the 20s later tonight and on Thanksgiving. It's also dry and cold. FeelsLike temps will be running below the freezing mark until Friday afternoon. This dry, cold air also plays a significant role in the arrival time of our next snow storm. Travel will become more difficult throughout Saturday before drier weather returns Sunday.

Stay safe, stay weather-aware, and happy Thanksgiving!
