Restaurant reservations for Thanksgiving dinner have increased by 13% compared to last year, as more families choose to dine out rather than cook at home, according to OpenTable, amid rising grocery prices affecting household budgets.
Business is brisk at grocery stores as people stock up on Thanksgiving dinner supplies. With higher prices, some are buying more of certain items and less of others, while others are relying on family members to contribute more to the meal.
Venestina Cuevas, who is loading up on her Thanksgiving necessities, said she is depending on help.
"My kids said they wanted a Thanksgiving, and so I spent more money this year," Cuevas said.
She's asking her relatives coming over to spend the holiday with them to bring something as well.
