SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Shreveport Regional Airport experienced heavy passenger traffic as travelers arrived for the Thanksgiving holiday, with flights running at least 80-85% capacity.
Thanksgiving 2025 was predicted to have the busiest travel surge in 15 years, and airport officials say the numbers support that forecast.
“With the additional seats that we’ve seen throughout the year, the prices have been competitive. So we’re really happy about that,” said Larry Blackwell with Shreveport Regional Airport.
Airlines set their own ticket prices, and this holiday season has seen a drop in costs, according to Blackwell. Overall passenger volume is up about 18% compared to last year.
