The No. 1 team in the nation University of Calgary Dinos men’s hockey team (14-2) returns to the ice one last time this semester, playing a home-and-home with city rival Mount Royal (8-5-1) this weekend. Friday’s opener will take place down the road at Flames Community Arenas, while Saturday’s first-semester finale is the Dinos’ first home game since Nov. 8. Both games are set for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
With their win streak running to nine after a weekend sweep of Manitoba last time out, the Dinos move to No. 1 in the latest U SPORTS top 10 – the first time they’ve been the top team in the nation since doing so the final seven weeks in a row during the 2022-23 season. Prior to that, Calgary also was ranked No. 1 for five weeks during the 2013-14 campaign.
