WASHINGTON — With the holidays in full swing , Mayor Muriel Bowser is encouraging everyone to shop local and small businesses this weekend to celebrate Small Business Saturday. Holiday markets across the District offer unique gifts, crafted goods, and more from local entrepreneurs.

“Shopping local is one of the most meaningful ways residents can support the businesses that anchor our corridors and shape our communities,” said DSLBD Director Rosemary Suggs-Evans . “Whether it’s a maker at a holiday pop-up, a neighborhood retailer, or a longtime brick-and-mortar shop, every purchase helps keep DC’s small business ecosystem strong.”

The District is also hosting DC Cocktail Week from December 1 through December 7, featuring more than 100 bars and restaurants. Enjoy a sip and shop stroll
