KAPOLEI, Hawaii (Island News) – A stranger danger incident occurred in Kapolei, prompting the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) to investigate.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 3 p.m. when a 13-year-old girl was walking home from her middle school in Kapolei. Police said that she was approached by an unknown man who was driving a gray SUV that pulled alongside her and entered the bicycle path.

Police reported that the man then made hand gestures, attempting to get her attention and possibly lure her toward the vehicle.

HPD did not elaborate on how the incident ended or if there were any injuries.

The suspect is described as a man, possibly in his 40s, with a heavy build and tan skin.
