Few details were available Wednesday night about a police shooting near the Banner North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Weld County officials announced there had been a police shooting in social media posts but did not say how many people were shot, the severity of their injuries or why police first responded to the hospital at 1801 16th Street.
Officials with the Greeley Police Department and Weld County Sheriff’s Office could not immediately be reached for comment.
Greeley police first posted about a heavy police presence near the hospital on Facebook at 4:35 p.m.
The 19th Judicial Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the shooting and there is no danger to the public, the agency said in a statement.
