Nico Hischier had a goal and two assists to lead the New Jersey Devils past the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in overtime Wednesday night in Newark, N.J.
Hischier set up Simon Nemec for the winning goal 2:58 into overtime as the Devils extended their home-ice point streak to 10 games at 9-0-1.
Timo Meier had a goal and an assist for the Devils, and Jacob Markstrom made 21 saves.
Cam Fowler had a goal and assist for the Blues. Robert Thomas also scored, and Jordan Binnington made 26 saves.
Binnington had to be sharp in the first period as the Devils outshot the Blues 14-7. He stopped Hischier's point-blank rebound attempt in the first minute.
Fowler put the Blues up 1-0 at the 2:16 mark with a slap shot off the left wing.
Shortly thereafter, Binnington stopped Arseny Gritsyuk from the near slot
