GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Shoppers crowded grocery stores Wednesday as families made final preparations for Thanksgiving dinner, with many still searching for key ingredients hours before the holiday.
Fernando Medellin said he was picking up essentials for what will be a special celebration for his family.
“I’m probably going to be doing a pie and ham and see what happens,” Medellin said.
The Medellin family is excited as this will be their first holiday together since one parent works in health care. But they still have a huge challenge to face.
“We’re trying to do the holidays with a very picky eater who doesn’t like anything but pepperoni and chicken nuggets,” Medellin said.
