LINCOLN, Neb. —
Elliott Brown, a former Nebraska Husker football player, is now working in Gov. Jim Pillen's office, a transition he says was greatly influenced by his college football experience.
Brown's path to politics mirrors that of Gov. Pillen, who also transitioned from being a former football player to a career in public service.
"Him being a, you know, former football player and then going to veterinary and all that stuff he was showing, like whatever he puts his mind to, he's going to accomplish. And so, I always try to do the same thing," Brown said.
Brown's lifelong goal was to play football for his home state, following the footsteps of his father Lance, who played for the Huskers during the 1995 and 1997 national championships.
