CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Another battle for the Land of Lincoln trophy is upon us as Illinois celebrates Senior Night in its home finale against rival Northwestern.

Illinois is coming off an embarrassing 27-10 upset loss to Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium last Saturday. The Illini were only down three at halftime, but were outscored 17-3 after the break as the offense was unable to get anything going. Wisconsin mustered only 92 passing yards, yet its ground attack carried the day with 209 yards. Northwestern is now bowl eligible for the second time in three years after defeating Minnesota 38-35 last week.

According to Illinois Athletics, the Fighting Illini are 58-55-5 all-time against the Wildcats, with the most recent win coming in 2024 when Illinois won 38-28 at Wrigley Field.
