HORACE — The Horace girls basketball team does not have to think too hard about what they're thankful for this year.

They're coming into the 2025-26 season as the defending champions in Division 2A, in just their third year of varsity basketball.

After winning the final 24 games of their season to reach that summit, the accomplishment has already been acknowledged in the school's gym.

"While we are ready to move forward and ready to focus on this season, we certainly won't forget the experiences from last year," said head coach Brent Hintz.

"Some people might say it's an expectation, but honestly I think we just use it as experience, and I think it was a great experience that we've got to learn a lot from," said sophomore guard Lakyn Donnelly.
