MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — Three of the six convicts who escaped from North Dakota State Penitentiary Saturday were back in custody Monday.

The three still at large are identified as Charles Smith, Charles Clark and Lawrence Ferguson. They are described by law enforcement officials as armed and dangerous.

Morton County sheriff’s authorities picked up one of the escapees about 3 a.m. Monday. Two others were picked up near Carrington Sunday.
