Former Everton defender Joleon Lescott has revealed Idrissa Gueye was as surprised as anyone by his red card outburst at Old Trafford . The Toffees midfielder was dismissed in the 13th minute against Manchester United on Monday after he slapped team-mate Michael Keane in the face.

David Moyes ' men went on to triumph 1-0 despite playing more than 80 minutes of the match a man down. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall converted the only goal of the game not long after Gueye departure, and the Toffees successfully held out to claim a momentous win.
