Liverpool returned to Champions League action on Wednesday night but sank to a new low as they were dismantled 4-1 by visitors PSV Eindhoven.
Arne Slot 's side have now lost nine of their last 12 games in all competitions, part of a run that is their worst since November 1953 and January 1954. The defeat at Anfield is their second in the space of a week by a margin of three goals, after they were also hammered 3-0 by Nottingham Forest over the weekend.
In terms of injuries, Liverpool were without Florian Wirtz , Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley for the visit of PSV. Alisson was also absent due to illness, while Hugo Ekitike was forced off with a problem in the second half, further adding to the head coach's concerns.
